At ID Elite, we employ only qualified football coaches who are as passionate and enthusiastic about the game as us. We actively encourage our coaches to take the relevant steps to enhance their knowledge with the latest qualifications and courses available.
Directors
Ian Horswell
Ian started off as Reserve Team Manager for Grouville Football Club nine seasons ago and since then has risen through the ranks to Manager of Grouville Football Club. In his three seasons as reserve manager Ian and the reserve team claim three successive trophies leading to Ian's appointment as First Team Manager as only 22 years of age. Ian added to this success when he took the Grouville top side to four trophies in five seasons. Ian was rewarded with an invitation to coach the Jersey senior side in the summer of 2005 leading them to success against Barcelona's U21s and Celtic's U19s in a four team tournament which Jersey won under Ian's management.
Ian boasts an impressive collection of coaching qualifications including; FA Coaching License (also known as the UEFA B License), FA Basic Treatment and Management of Injuries Level 2, FA Psychology Level 1, FA Emergency Aid Award and the FA Child Protection Certificate. In September 2005 Ian was responsible for organising a coaching seminar for local based coaches with former England captain, David Platt.
Dieter Paland
I D Elite Soccer School is the brainchild of Dieter. His idea in early 2003 has been a fantastic success. Dieter is a fully F.A qualified coach who recently arranged for FA National skills coaches to attend ID Elite's holiday school's program.
Dieter also had a spell as player/manager of St Clements FC which saw the East coast club promoted in his first season in charge after an absence of 13 years. His one and only season managing in the 1st division saw a memorable victory at Springfield over reigning Channel Island Champions Jersey Scottish, before resigning to start I D Elite Soccer School.
As a player Dieter started out playing with St Pauls and was part of the successful team that won the Tregear Cup with Dieter scoring the winning goal in the cup final. Dieter has also played for Sporting Academics & Jersey Scottish football teams in the island and also captained St Saviours Parish to two successive victories to win the Trinity Shield in 2003 and 2004 which also included current Bristol City professional Brett Pitman. Dieter finally retired from playing at the end of 2004 due to a series of injuries.
ID Elite Soccer School Coaches
Richard Parker - Coach
Richard passed his Level 1 coaching qualification in March 2007 along with his First Aid and Child Protection Certificates. Richard started as an U14 player for St. Ouens FC and in his first year as a club player, won the U14 footballer of the year. He has also won the accolade twice with his more recent team Trinity FC at the under 18 level.
During his time at Trinity, Richard broke into the C team at the age of fifteen and then the reserves team at the age of seventeen. In the past season Richard has become an emerging first team player at the age of nineteen, and represented the 1st team in the Jeremie Cup final in 2007.
Richard is currently in his second year at the University of Birmingham studying a BSc in Sport and Exercise Sciences with plans to go on and do a teacher training degree and become a secondary PE teacher.
Richard is one of ID Elite's Holiday school coaching staff, and also has coached children in other sports such as tennis.
Sam Dustow - Weekend Coach
I began coaching for I.D Elite in approximately late 2007. I have since attained my Level One coaching badge and also undertaken a new course, known as the "Introduction to age appropriate learning".
I am incredibly passionate about football and coaching. I watch lots and lots of football, live, on television, local and global. All of which drives my Mother up the wall.
I am a fan of Ipswich Town and although we aren't the best I still love them. I have a vast selection of football shirts, ranging from clubs in Turkey, England and several national shirts.
Multi-Sports Holiday School Coaches
Chris Jones - Head Coach
Coaching qualifications: Football Level II UEFA B badge.
Sporting successes: Represented the Island at tennis, rugby, cricket and hockey at secondary level. Football at primary and secondary level. Managed St Clements Ladies and assisted with St Johns Ladies. Assisted with St Peter's U14 and managed St Johns U16.
Occupation: Year 6 teacher at Victoria College Prep.
Future plans: to continue working with the Jersey Island Ladies squad as assistant coach to manager Tony Hoyland.
Kieran Norman - Head Coach
Coaching - Qualified FA Level 1 in 2007 and have been coaching at ID Elite since. I also assist the Jersey Sports Association for the Disabled (JSAD) in football coaching every Tuesday night at St. Paul's football club. Plan to take my Level 2 FA qualification in the near future.
Playing - I have played football since aged 6. Represented Jersey in victories in both Star Trophy and Junior Murrati. Captained St. Paul's U14's and 16's to League Cup and Channel Island Championship. Represented Chichester University during all three years of my time at university until a shoulder injury prevented me playing competitively.
Current - Working as a Sports Therapist BSc (Hons) MSST locally at Augre Physiotherapy Ltd at the Lido Medical Centre. Specialize in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of sport related injuries.
Elianne Riant - ID Elite Holiday Coach
Studying: Sport Development with Physical Education at Liverpool John Moores University.
Sporting Successes: Female Sports captain at Hautlieu School, played netball for Jersey since the age of 11 and am curently playing for Liverpool John Moores Netball team.
Qualifications: Qualified Active playtimes and Sports Linx coach, and a NGB Level 1 in rounders.
After I finish my degree in sport development I play to do a PGCE to become a primary school teacher specialising in PE.
Ross Jeffs - ID Elite Holiday Coach
Currently Studying Sports science and the university of bath,schooled at De La Salle before moving to Hautlieu. Looking to work with elite athletes after university.
Sporting success includes being selected for the island football team at every age group from u12s to u21s. 3x Junior Muratti winner. Also part of the Island athletics team for 2 island games and multiple island record holder in the long jump and triple jump.
Qualifications include Level 2 strength and conditioning coach. Level 1 athletics coach. Junior sports leaders award (JSLA). A* Physical education A level. Diploma in financial studies.
Tom Gibbs - ID Elite Holiday Coach
Tom is a qualified Rugby and Cricket coach. He has represented Jersey at Cricket, Badminton and Hockey at senior level and Football and Tennis at junior level. He is a highly experienced cricket coach having worked for nearly four years with the Jersey Cricket Board. Tom is currently at the University of Birmingham studying sport and management. He hopes to go into teaching after graduating.

John Lloyd - Academy Team Manager
John Lloyd has been part of the local fire service for 20 years and started coaching at ID Elite in 2008. John became our Academy Manager and has a wide range of coaching qualifications:

John's Academy side have performed extremely well in the annual BWCI Mini's festival in Guernsey and reached the Semi Finals twice in three years losing both times to professional side, Fulham FC.
Phil Maletroit - Goalkeeping Coach
Phil gained his FA Level 1 Football Coaching Certificate in 2006 and took his FA Goalkeeper Level 1 Certificate straight after becoming one of the first coaches in Jersey to attain the award. He is also a fully qualified football referee!
Phil's role at ID Elite to coach the goalkeepers who are in the Academy which runs on Tuesday evening's. He continues to play for Grouville FC and has won a significant amount of trophies at his time at the club. In the Summer months, Phil can also be found on the cricket pitch representing the Touchstone Royals.
Niall Hingston - Academy Coach
Niall has represented Jersey (Football) at all levels from Under 11 through to Under 21 but stopped playing at 18. He is due to take his FA Level 1 coaching certificate in 2011 and has been coaching at the academy for one full season. Niall has two twin boys who have been through the Academy and now play at Grouville FC.
